Penrose Croft Celebrates Grand Opening with More Than 300 Guests
Penrose Croft care home in Helston celebrated its official Grand Opening on Saturday 22nd August, welcoming more than 300 guests and raising over £200 for Helston Memory Café.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Penrose Croft resident ambassador Peggy and Vice Lord-Lieutenant Daphne Skinnard. Peggy said, “It was a wonderful day. I never expected to see all those people. My family thought it was amazing, as is the care home itself, I can’t fault it.
Its lovely being a celebrity, I never expected it at my age, but everyone has made me feel so special. Everyone is so kind and help me and the food is outstanding. I am so grateful and thankful that I came here, it was definitely the right decision, I’m so happy here.”
The home was honoured to welcome several distinguished guests, including:
• Councillor Loveday Jenkin
• Helston Town Mayor Nicola Boase
• Lt Cdr Billy Benton
• WO1 Alan Foster
• WO1 Dave Stott
• Representatives from Helston Fire Brigade
The even was also attended by Mrs Sam Ludkin, the Learning and Development Organisation Hub Manager from RNAS Culdrose, who said, “It was wonderful to see the beginning of what I hope will be a strong and lasting relationship between Penrose Croft and the RNAS Culdrose community, bringing benefits to residents, serving personnel and their families alike.”
Guests enjoyed guided tours of the home, a variety of entertainment and a selection of food prepared by Penrose Croft’s talented kitchen team.
Penrose Croft extended its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, including residents, families, colleagues, suppliers, entertainers and members of the local community. Annmarie Thomas, the General Manager at Penrose Croft, said, “The Grand Opening was an unforgettable occasion, especially since we were joined by our first residents. We are incredibly grateful to every person who joined us and helped make the day such a remarkable success.
