Parkfield House Nursing Home’s Socially Distanced Cupcake Sale Raises Over £300
Parkfield House Nursing Home hosted a Cupcake Day Drive Thru’ in its spacious car park, raising a very respectable £393.21 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Despite the rain, the home’s fundraising drive thru’ was well attended, with friends and families respecting social distancing while enjoying a variety of delicious and wickedly naughty cakes generously donated by Wenzel’s the Bakers and others. A crew from the London Ambulance Service also dropped in and made a kind donation. No cakes went uneaten – unsold treats were later given to the local fire station.
Recently appointed home manager, Shawndell Barker, says: “We’re so grateful to everyone who helped to make today such a success. It really was a fantastic team effort made possible by the incredible generosity of the individuals and businesses who donated the cakes, the support of family and friends and, of course, our hard-working staff. We were also delighted to show our appreciation to our local fire station – they do such a valuable job.”
