Oxford Home Creates Resident Calendar For 2025 By Replicating Famous Paintings From The Past

The home did something similar in 2022, which proved to be very successful

An Oxford home has created a calendar for 2025 by getting its residents to recreate famous paintings from the past.

MHA Brookfield previously did something similar in 2022, which was a very successful idea as the home sold plenty of copies both nationally and internationally.

Taking inspiration from 2022, the home decided to do something for 2025, with the help of 14 residents, who will feature in different months of the year

Famous paintings including Girl with a Pearl Earring, Van Gogh’s self-portrait and Joseph Karl Stieler’s Beethoven have been replicated.

Activity coordinators Victoria Davidson and Sally May dressed residents up by using a range of items as props including kitchen towels and rags and various cloths.

The pictures were taken and edited by Rebecca Phillipson, one of the home’s volunteers.

The calendars will be available to buy for £15 (£20 with postage) and all the proceeds will go towards the homes amenities fund.

Victoria Davidson, activity coordinator said:
“Me and Rebecca are art lovers and I have visited some art galleries recently and that is where the inspiration came from.

“I went back to the home, had a rummage around to see what fabrics and cloths I could find.

“The calendar in 2022 was a huge success, something we are very proud of here at MHA Brookfield.

“We are hoping to at least replicate the success of 2022, however it would be amazing if we could exceed it.

“I showed the residents how that calendar looked and then asked them if they would like to be a part of it.

“Then I, Sally and Rebecca looked at which paintings we could replicate with which residents and that’s how we managed to complete the calendar.

“The family members of the residents are very happy with what we have done, and we have received some lovely feedback.
