Over 1,000 Care Homes in England To Celebrate the National Day of Arts in Care Homes on 24th September
On Wednesday 24th September, more than 1,000 care homes in England are pledging to take part in the National Day of Arts in Care Homes, a nationwide campaign led by NAPA that celebrates creativity in care.
The campaign highlights the importance of the arts in supporting wellbeing, connection and self-expression for care home residents. From music and dance to painting, poetry and theatre, activities will be taking place across the country to showcase the transformative role of the arts in daily life.
The National Day of Arts in Care Homes grows in scale and impact each year, demonstrating the commitment of care providers to placing creativity at the heart of care.
Hilary Woodhead, CEO of NAPA, said: “It’s wonderful to see so many care homes pledging to take part. The arts can make such a difference to daily life, bringing joy, sparking memories and helping residents feel connected to one another and their communities. This day is all about celebrating that creativity and sharing it with the wider world.”
NAPA is inviting care homes, artists and community partners to share their activities on social media using the hashtag #AICH2025, helping to spread inspiration and showcase the creativity of the sector.
