Open Day To Be Held At New State-Of-The-Art Residential And Dementia Care Home In Bournemouth

Great Oaks, a new purpose-built 80-bed care home which recently opened in Bournemouth, is hosting an open day on Wednesday August 16 from 10am to 2pm.

The luxurious care home opened in June following a successful Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection and is welcoming residents to the home for residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care. Short-term respite stays are also offered at the home, which is discreetly located within a private woodland setting on Poole Lane.  The idyllic location of Great Oaks offers residents a restful atmosphere, which is enhanced by the landscaped garden.

Great Oaks is managed by Encore Care Homes and is fitted with state-of-the-art facilities; designed to enable staff to provide the highest standard of twenty-four hour, personalised care and ensure residents are comfortable and happy in their surroundings.

Ian MacDonald, care home manager, will be on-hand to talk to visitors at the open day to answer any question they may have. There is also the opportunity to meet the care home team including nurses and carers, and take a tour around the facilities of the building and garden.

Each of the rooms at Great Oaks is generously-sized with a private en-suite wetroom, movement-triggered lights, and adaptable lighting levels to suit the residents’ needs. The building also features underfloor heating for the benefit of the residents, 180-degree views of the nearby woodland area, and a landscaped garden with raised flower beds and a vegetable patch for residents to enjoy.

Ian MacDonald, manager of Great Oaks, said: “My team and I are looking forward to welcoming members of the public to come along to see for themselves that Great Oaks has been designed to ensure the utmost comfort for residents, as well as contain the most efficient, modern facilities to enable us to provide the very best care.

‘‘Our door is always open, if you are unable to attend the open day please feel free to pop in for a cup of tea and I will happily show you around the home.’’
