Nominations Open For Towergate Care Awards 2016
Entries open for eight award categories, celebrating excellence across the care sector
- Bridget Jones and Miranda star, Sally Phillips, to host the awards ceremony
Nominations are now open for the inaugural Towergate Care Awards. The specialist insurance broker provides cover for various areas of the care industry and wants to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in care.
The awards will recognise and pay tribute to those who go above and beyond to deliver the best quality care every day, providing a moment in the spotlight for unsung heroes in this profession.
James Tugendhat, Towergate Chief Commercial Officer, commented: “I am delighted that Towergate has introduced these awards to celebrate the vital role carers play in our community. It is important we recognise those who care for others and I am looking forward to meeting the winners of each category. Good luck to everyone nominated!”
There are eight award categories, reflecting the diversity of caring in all its many forms, and the winners will be revealed at a lunchtime event held at a 5* Central London location on Thursday 10th March 2016.
Towergate is urging people to give recognition to those who work tirelessly to make other peoples’ lives brighter. The award categories are as follows:
- Fostering Contribution of the Year
- Home Carer of the Year
- Care Home Worker of the Year
- Dedication to Early Years
- Volunteer of the Year
- Practice Manager of the Year
- Creative Counselling Initiative of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution to the Education Sector
There will also be a final award for someone that will be chosen on the night from all of the finalists, this is the Towergate Unsung Hero Award.
The ceremony will be hosted by the British comic actress and writer Sally Phillips, who has starred in some of the nation’s best loved films and television programmes, including Bridget Jones’ Diary, Smack the Pony and Miranda.
Speaking about the awards Sally Philips said “I am extremely honoured to be presenting the Towergate Care Awards 2016. Having experienced first-hand, what it takes to be a dedicated carer I understand the compassion, the commitment and the kindness of every individual nominated for an award. Carers are some of the most inspirational people in this country and I am delighted to be giving them an opportunity to be recognised”.
