Newcastle Care Home Joined By Mayor For Community Summer Fayre

Residents and staff at Wordsworth House care home were joined by special guest, The Lord Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne, Councillor George Pattison, for a fun summer fayre, which was enjoyed by members of the community.

Held in the grounds of the home, the fayre included a visit from the miniature ponies of KL Pony Therapy, a bouncy castle, tombola, stalls and refreshments and raised £500, which will be put towards extra treats for residents during the summer months.

Located on Clayton Road in Jesmond, Wordsworth House provides nursing care for up to 73 elderly residents.

Wordsworth House is part of Akari Care and aims to maintain lifestyles as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home, with an extensive range of activities which individuals can enjoy and benefit from.

Michelle Daglish, Peripatetic Manager of Wordsworth House, said: “The fayre was fantastic and was enjoyed by residents and many members of our local community and it was great to see the residents interacting with people of all ages and, of course, enjoying the visit from the miniature ponies.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us raise an impressive amount and a special thank you toCouncillor George Pattison for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend.”
