Newark Hospice Charity Raises Over £13,000 Through National Giving Campaign

Beaumond House Hospice Care has raised £13,588 over the course of just one week after encouraging supporters to ‘Give the Gift of Hospice Care This Christmas’.

As part of the Christmas Challenge, which is organised by The Big Give, any donations made to the hospice between Tuesday 2 December and Tuesday 9 December were doubled.

Through the generous donations made, Beaumond House was able to surpass its £12,300 target with the support of five local businesses, which all provided match funding.

The funds raised will enable the charity to continue providing specialist palliative and end of life care, supporting patients and their families in Newark and Sherwood.

Andrea Ward, Individual Giving Fundraising Manager at Beaumond House Hospice Care, said:
“Our supporters never fail to amaze us with their generosity and we are so grateful for their donations during the Christmas Challenge, which have allowed us to exceed our target and raise over £13,000.

“We would also like to say a special thanks to our generous match funders – Norwood Park Golf Club, Abbott & Co, Southwell & District Lions, Field Dog Fairs and The Reed Foundation. The campaign was also supported by Alasdair Morrison & Mundys. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without their generous support.

“Fundraisers like this are so vital to the hospice, as the care we provide isn’t fully funded by the NHS. It costs us £2.8 million a year to run our service and £2.2 million of this has to be raised through donations, our shops and support from local businesses. It’s because of this that we’re able to continue making a real difference to our patients when every moment matters.”
