New Manager For Peterborough Nursing Home Welcomes All In ‘Open House’ Month

managerPark House nursing home in Peterborough is officially announcing its new manager; Mungwaluku Mupatu, who is planning to host a month-long ‘Open House’ to welcome people in to the home.

Throughout May, Mungwaluku, who lives in Lincolnshire and is known to all as Mupatu, is hosting the Open House, welcoming members of the community to pop into the home to learn more about care services and gain advice on how to choose the right care home.

Mupatu started the role in February and brings years of experience in specialist care and nursing, to build on the home’s excellent service.

He began his career in elderly care 14 years ago, when he trained overseas to become a registered nurse.  He worked as a healthcare support worker while waiting for his registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).  He was later promoted to clinical lead, managing a dementia unit in a large home.

Mupatu then progressed to home management, serving as a deputy manager before become manager of a home in Nottinghamshire prior to his current role at Park House. His passion is with providing exceptional dementia and end of life care, and he has undertaken advanced training in these areas.  He is also a qualified mentor and has spent much of his career supporting and developing colleagues.

Mupatu confirms, “Providing the very best dementia care is something I have been passionate about throughout my career, and I am looking forward to developing our dementia care provision at Park House.  Alongside this, I will also be working with colleagues to further enhance our end of life care. These areas are of such crucial importance to individuals and their families, so are real priorities for me.

“Having met with relatives earlier this month, it is clear to me that Park House is much-loved and that the relationship between the team, relatives and residents is superb.  I hope to build on this, whilst also improving our links with other support agencies and communities in the local area.

“Our Open House month in May will be a chance for people to come and meet me and the team, but also to ask us anything about what to expect from a care home and how to make sure you find the best care setting for your loved one.”
