New Leadership For Cotswold Care Provider
Aura Care Living have appointed two new senior figures to their award-winning group.
The care and retirement specialists, who have sites in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and Camberley, Surrey, have brought in Richard Scarth as their new Chief Operations Officer and Colleen Joubert, as the Care Home General Manager.
They will both operate from Cirencester’s Stratton Court Retirement Village and Care Home.
Richard Scarth possesses over 20 years’ experience within the health and social care sector and previously has held senior positions with Sunrise Senior Living, Barchester Healthcare and Care UK. Between 2015 and 2022 he broadened his experience by working in the NHS at Director and Chief Executive level, during which time he was instrumental in developing schemes to support the patient journey from acute care into residential and nursing care.
Most recently, he left the NHS for an operational role within a fire and rescue service and currently splits his time between life on shift and time spent driving the provision of the highest possible standard of care at Stratton Court.
Richard said of his new position: “My greatest passion as making a difference to people living with, and families affected by, memory loss and dementia.”
Colleen Joubert qualified as a nurse 28 years ago before going on to community nurse, midwife and psychiatric nurse. She said: “My passion is palliative care; I truly believe that everyone deserves a dignified death.
“I’ve been a turnaround home manager for 17 years, assisting providers to receive good and outstanding outcomes for their homes. I enjoy the challenges of finding solutions for problems and ensuring that all staff are empowered to deliver the highest quality of care.
In her spare time, she enjoys long dog walks, reading and doing a variety of arts and craft such as sewing and crocheting.
“I can’t wait to experience the exciting journey of Stratton Court,” she added.
Stratton Court has recently picked up a host of awards including Best Luxury Care Home 2024 in the South West by Global Health and Pharma Magazine, Team of the Year from the Cirencester Chamber of Commerce and have just found out they have been shortlisted for the industry prestigious, Health Investor Senior Housing Award.
Aura Care Living’s sales director Peter Lloyd said of the two new appointments: “They are a great addition to the team, here in Cirencester. They have already fitted straight in with both the staff and residents.”
