The National Care Forum (NCF) has announced the appointment of two new board members at its AGM earlier this month.

Professor Vic Rayner OBE, Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome, and congratulate Rachael Dodgson, Chief Executive of Dimensions and Jim Kane, Chief Executive Officer of Community Integrated Care who have been elected to our board. We also congratulate Sarah Clarke-Kuehn, Chief Operating Officer of Sanctuary and Dan Hayes, Chief Executive of The Orders of St John Care Trust on their re-election to the board.  The expertise and breadth of knowledge of these new board members, combined with the continued commitment and support provided by the existing board will further equip NCF to represent not-for-profit care provision at a time when our members, and the wider adult social care sector, are under continued strain.

“We extend our sincere thanks to Marianne Wanstall, Chief Executive of Brendoncare and Rachel Jones, Director of Care and Housing Services at Jewish Care for their many years of support as they step down from the board.”

The new board members, and re-elected members join the existing board comprising Andy Cole of Royal Star & Garter, Maxine Espley of Green Square Accord, Oona Goldsworthy of Brunelcare, Brian James of Cedarmore Housing Association, Rob Martin of Anchor Hanover, Maria Mills of Active Prospects, Martin Rix of Belong and Alison Waller of Corserv Care.

The AGM heard from Sally Warren, Director General within the Department of Health and Social Care with responsibility to deliver the government’s health missions. Sally explained the three different vehicles that the government envisage will support these plans: primary prevention, the 10 year health plan and the 10 year plan for social care which will define the roadmap to a National Care Service.

NCF also published its 2023-24 Impact Report, outlining the various activities and influence NCF has brought on behalf of its members over the last year. The impact report highlights the significant efforts of the NCF team, Board and members during 2023 and 2024.  Download the Impact Report
