MP Greg Stafford Visits Brownscombe House As It Celebrates 40 Years Of Care Excellence

Brownscombe House, part of CHD Living, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, marking four decades of providing high-quality care to the Surrey community and in recognition of this milestone, Greg Stafford, MP for Farnham and Bordon, visited the facility to meet with residents and team members, while also discussing some of the key challenges facing the care sector today. During his visit, Mr Stafford toured the Brownscombe site and engaged in meaningful discussions about recruitment challenges, retention, and the broader issues affecting social care.

Shaleeza Hasham, Commercial Director at CHD Living, highlighted the importance of ensuring local authorities fund care services fairly, taking into account the full spectrum of services needed to provide comprehensive care. She also stressed the need for a coordinated approach between social care and healthcare services to better support the sector.

Greg Stafford MP, said: “It’s clear that care providers like CHD Living play a vital role in delivering high-quality care, despite the challenges the sector faces. I know how both health and social care is of great concern for both my constituents and around the country; I am grateful to CHD for having a meaningful discussion with me on the situation in Surrey and Hampshire, and look forward to hearing more about their work in future.”

The visit also provided an opportunity to highlight CHD Living’s successful partnership with Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, which has saved the NHS millions of pounds while improving patient care through innovative discharge processes. Jon Stanely, COO of CHD Living, who also attended the meeting, discussed how a similar partnership with Royal Surrey could bring similar benefits to patients in the region.

Shaleeza, said: “Marking 40 years of Brownscombe House is a testament to the dedication of our team and the trust we have built with families across Surrey. We are committed to continually evolving to meet the needs of our residents, and the visit from Mr Stafford reaffirms the importance of strong collaboration between care providers, the NHS, and government to shape the future of the sector. Thank you, Greg for taking the time – it was great to have you.”
