Mother’s Day Celebrations At Borough Care

MothersBorough Care marked Mothering Sunday with celebrations at each of its eleven homes for older people in Stockport. Residents at all of Borough Care’s homes were also treated to a special three course meal.

Bamford Close in Cale Green hosted a cheese and wine afternoon, with lots of music and dancing. The weekend also included celebrations for two members of staff who are mums-to-be. Surprise baby showers were thrown for Care Assistant Chloe Douglas, who finished work on Mother’s Day for her maternity leave, and Housekeeper Dalcylea Hamill.

Meadway Court in Bramhall was decorated for Mother’s Day and there were flowers and chocolate treats for female residents. At Marbury House in Heaton Chapel, residents spent the morning flower arranging and all the ladies received a floral gift, which they were delighted with. Lisburne Court in Offerton was decorated with fresh roses and balloons and there were gifts of chocolates for the ladies. During the afternoon, a cream tea was served for residents, their families and friends. A cream tea was also enjoyed at Silverdale in Bredbury. Residents at Cawood House in Brinnington enjoyed a performance from entertainer Lucy Hope on Saturday so mothers could spend time in the company of their families on Mothering Sunday.

Over at Wellcroft, in the heart of Gatley village, residents were treated to a Buck’s Fizz breakfast followed by a pamper session. Later, residents tucked into a buffet before finishing the day relaxing by watching a movie.
