Mossdale Residence Residents Go Behind the Scenes at Jorvik Radio

Residents at Mossdale Residence in Burnholme, York, enjoyed a fascinating morning behind the scenes at Jorvik Radio, discovering how a live radio show is brought together.

The group were invited to visit the station where broadcaster Nick Love welcomed them and talked them through the different elements involved in producing and presenting a live programme.

Residents had the opportunity to listen to the show as it was broadcast live, including an interview and a fantastic selection of music. Nick explained what he was doing throughout the broadcast and gave residents an insight into how each show is pieced together.

Julie Infield, Wellbeing Coordinator at Mossdale Residence, said residents Pauline Townie and Mick Archer particularly enjoyed the experience and were fascinated to learn more about how the station operates.

She said: “It was wonderful to give our residents the opportunity to visit Jorvik Radio and see what happens behind the scenes. Pauline and Mick really enjoyed listening to the live show and finding out how each programme is put together.

“Nick was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything to us and even gave the residents a few freebies, which was a lovely surprise. We’re very grateful for such a warm welcome and an enjoyable morning.”
