Youngsters from Rosedene Nurseries were visiting The Beeches Care Home, both in Stockton-on-Tees, as part ongoing intergenerational activities.
Staff from the home decided to run an arts and craft activity for the visiting children, all aged three and four years old, who chose to make coasters for the residential unit.
They used a mixture of paint, glitter and felt tip pens to individually decorate the coasters.
Resident Dot Cowley, 85, was among those who got involved, speaking to the children about their designs.
She said: “I love seeing the little ones come in. I feel like a big kid at heart and I adore all of the children.”
Jess Brown, home manager at The Beeches Care Home, said: “The children and residents all had such a lovely morning and enjoyed making a mess.
“The residents always love seeing the children, as we’ve taken part in intergenerational activities before.
“A big thank you to Rosedene Nurseries for visiting and we look forward to seeing them again soon.”
