Families who have lost a loved one through dementia can help create a lasting tribute to their memory.
Leading dementia charity, Dementia Care, has launched a fundraising campaign to create a Memory Tree in the foyer of its specialist dementia care centre.
The tree will not only serve as a focal point for the centre but supporters can opt to have their names of their loved ones engraved on its bronze, silver and gold leaves.
Award-winning Dementia Care offers a range of services to those with dementia, including 24 hour support in their own homes, independent living houses, day centres and respite care and has been hailed by the Government as an example of good practice.
Now, the charity, which provides specialist care for more than 200 people with dementia each week, is hoping the Memory Tree will inspire those whose lives have been touched by dementia, or who simply want to show their support,
The charity is running an on-line crowdfunding campaign until the 12 February to raise the £10,000 cost of the Memory Tree.
People can show their support by opting from a choice of pledges starting from as little as £10.
Those pledging £50 will receive a public thank you on Dementia Care’s website and in social media and their name will be inscribed on a donor’s board next to the Memory Tree.
