Mayor Enjoys Visit to Supported Living Home in Saltburn

The Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland, Councillor Ceri Cawley, paid a special visit to Milewood’s Strathallen home in Saltburn, where she met the people who live there and the team supporting them.

Strathallen provides high-quality, person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, helping each individual to develop greater independence, pursue their interests and enjoy fulfilling lives within their local community. The service became part of the Milewood family in 2025 and is home to up to nine people in a welcoming, homely environment just a short walk from Saltburn’s seafront.

During the visit, Councillor Cawley spent time chatting with residents and staff, learning more about daily life at Strathallen and the personalised support provided to help people achieve their goals. She was given a tour of the service and heard first-hand about the positive difference that dedicated, person-centred care makes to the lives of those who call Strathallen home.
