Margaret Bids Fond Farewell To Care Home Job After 30 Years
Family-run Colten Care has bid a fond farewell to its longest-serving staff member.
The Ringwood-based care home company threw a party for Margaret Scott, 70, who is retiring after 30 years with the business.
The celebration took place at Colten’s Court Lodge in Lymington, where Margaret, also from Lymington, has worked as a domestic assistant for the last 28 years.
Presenting Margaret with flowers and a gift, Ian Hudson, Executive Chairman of Colten Care said: “Margaret has been a much-loved member of Colten since soon after the company started. She joined us when she was 40 to work in our original care home Monmouth House and has spent the years since then as a valued part of the team at Court Lodge.
“I know that all the directors and the home managers she has worked alongside, and of course all her colleagues and residents here at Court Lodge are sad to be losing her, but we are also happy she is off to enjoy a well-deserved retirement with her husband Chas.”
Grandmother-of-three Margaret, said: “I’ve watched Colten grow from one home to now 20 homes, but it has always kept its family feel and so I’ve never wanted to go and work anywhere else.”
She added: “The party today has been absolutely wonderful and I especially love my special cake made by our chef. I will miss Court Lodge but I’m looking forward to spending my free time walking and enjoying the lovely area where we live.”
