Local InspirationaCarers Championed as Part of Signature Senior Lifestyle Celebration of Carers Week

Signature Senior Lifestyle, a care home provider, has joined the nation in paying homage to incredible and inspirational carers working across social care.

As part of a company wide celebration to celebrate Carers Week, three fortunate Team Members at Signature at The Beeches, a care home in Brentwood forming part of the Signature Senior Lifestyle group, have each won £500.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face, and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people identify and access much-needed support.

The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities, and draw attention to just how important caring is.

Running from June 6th – June 12th, this year’s theme focused on making caring visible, valued, and supported. As a provider whose team members consistently go above and beyond for the needs of their residents, Signature proudly recognises how their work enables residents to live happy, fulfilling lives whilst receiving expert care and support whenever they may need it.

This includes through the delivery of long-term care, to short term respite care designed to help residents recover from an operation or illness.

To celebrate the extraordinary contribution of their team of carers, Signature handed out an incredible £10,000 in prizes to thank and reward the hard work of its team members – three of which were Signature at The Beeches team members.

19 carers’ names were randomly drawn out of a hat, with 18 lucky winners receiving a £500 voucher, whilst the 19th name won a whopping £1,000.

Reflecting on their £500 voucher win, Grace Carolan, Lead Care Assistant at Signature at The Beeches, said:

“It is a real privilege to be part of an organisation that goes the extra mile to celebrate us carers, and the hard work we put in. My colleagues and I pride ourselves on our dedication, commitment, and efforts to serve the residents at Signature at The Beeches, and our neighbouring care homes.

“In a cost-of-living crisis, I am really grateful to Signature for taking the time to value its carers. Their commitment and support to us all is felt all year long – not just when an occasion like Carers Week occurs.”

Speaking about the contribution of carers across Signature Senior Lifestyle, Kay Cox, Chief Operating Officer at Signature Senior Lifestyle, said:

“At Signature, we have incredible carers who always go the extra mile for the needs of our residents.

“We recognise the extraordinary dedication and commitment they display day in, day out, and always look to champion their hard work. They are the driving force behind our industry-leading care and support delivered to residents across Signature Senior Lifestyle. We believe it is important they are rewarded with industry-leading salaries, career development and training opportunities, and numerous benefits such as enhanced annual leave.

“Carers Week is an important week in our calendar. Across all of our 36 homes we take this opportunity to once again celebrate all our carers, and show just how much we care for them.”
