Local Care Service Celebrates 10th Birthday With Mad Hatter

Staff and clients at homecare and healthcare provider, Nurse Plus, raided their fancy dress boxes in aid of a Mad Hatter themed tea party to celebrate the 10th birthday of the Southampton branch.

Alice and The Mad Hatter were joined by the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and other character favourites for a day of delicious sandwiches and cakes, along with the opportunity for staff and clients to mingle and be given a tour of the office.

Sian Snook, Branch Manager at the Southampton branch, said: ‘When we realised it was our 10th Birthday we decided to do something that we could invite both clients and workers to share with us.

“I have now worked for Nurse Plus for just over 10 years so having a 10th birthday party for the branch was great and felt quite personal to me.  Please raise your tea cup to the next 10 years!’

Christina Harris, who has worked for Nurse Plus for over two years as a support worker, said: “I am very happy to have been working for Nurse Plus.  I feel that the office staff are understanding, easy to talk to and I also I love the fact that Nurse Plus has been great in helping me progress my career.”

Another Nurse Plus employee, Vicky Bailey who has worked for the company for 8 months as a homecarer, added: “I really enjoy working for Nurse Plus. The clients are lovely and I feel I have built up a good rapport with them.  Nurse Plus tries to ensure that we do call outs with the same clients on a regular basis to enable us to build good relationships.”

Staff at the branch went out to clients homes and drove them back to the office so that they could join in with the celebrations, with one of the customers describing the party as ‘delightful.’

Nurse Plus’ Southampton branch features in-house training facilities and offers flexible working, free training, a company lottery and other incentives to reward the hard work of its staff.

It’s decade long service to the local community has allowed people to receive the care they need in the comfort of their own home. Areas covered under the branch include Central Southampton, Shirley, Portswood, Millbrook, Totton, Freemantle, Bitterney, Woolston and Swaythling.
