Local Care Homes Celebrate Superstar Staff Member

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Southgate Beaumont and Hugh Myddelton House Care Homes in Enfield are over the moon because one of their much-loved staff members, Samantha Neal, has been named the Judges’ Winner at the second annual Strictly Come Millfield talent competition.

Samantha, a Customer Relationship Manager for Barchester Healthcare who supports Southgate Beaumont and Hugh Myddelton House, is no stranger to the dancefloor – she has been dancing for over 20 years. She teaches belly dancing every week locally and loves nothing more than to get the staff and residents dancing at the Barchester homes where she works. Samantha was paired up with Professional dancer Benjamin Figueira, from Platinum Performing Arts at Millfield House. They wowed the Strictly Come Millfield judges with their street dance routine and scooped the £1,200 top prize which Samantha will donate to her chosen charity, Enfield Carers Centre.

Speaking about her win, Samantha says: “I’m not normally a street dancer so this was totally out of my comfort zone and I was absolutely amazed to win! My dance partner Benjamin is fantastic. I loved the song choices and his choreography. I had such fun competing, it was such a great night and winning £1200 for Enfield Carers is really the icing on the cake. They are a fantastic charity and I am really happy to be able to support them.”

General Manager of Southgate Beaumont, Beatrice Godfrey, comments: “We are so proud of Samantha, she is a wonderful member of the team and all our staff and residents love her. She works incredibly hard and is a fantastic dancer, so we’re all very happy to see her win – it is so well deserved!”

We invite community favourites to take part and learn to dance with a professional to raise money for their chosen charities. It’s always great fun for the contestants and the audience love it.”
