Local Care Home Celebrates Summer Fayre Success

FayreStaff and residents at Care South’s Talbot View care home in Ensbury Park, Bournemouth are celebrating after raising an incredible £900 for the Residents’ Amenity Fund at the home’s annual Summer Fayre.

The Summer Fayre, which was held in the home’s garden on Saturday 30th July, proved to be a great success, with residents and staff joined by friends, family and members of the local community.

Staff put on a range of traditional fayre games for everyone to enjoy and there was a bouncy castle and face painting for younger guests, as well as a performance by a local singer, who entertained the children with songs from ‘Frozen’. Food for the barbeque was kindly donated by Talbot View’s local Co-op store, with 50 cakes also provided by a local baker for the refreshment stall. Two ladies from the local Co-op also gave up their free time to come along and help out.

Talbot View resident, Pam’s knitted creations went down well, as did the handmade gifts donated by carer, Sharon.

Jackie Nelson, Manager at Care South’s Talbot View, said: “We were delighted to welcome so many friends and family to this year’s Summer Fayre. We were extremely lucky with the weather as the sun was shining down on us. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated products and gave up their time, including our local Co-op store, for helping to make this the most successful Summer Fayre ever! The monies raised will help us to put on a wide variety of stimulating events and activities for our residents.

“A lot of planning went into the day and I would like to thank everyone involved. The residents thoroughly enjoyed mingling with the many visitors and soaking up the atmosphere.”
