Karuna Manor Hosts Navratri Food Drive for London Kitchen
Karuna Manor Care Home has brought residents, relatives and team members together to support London Community Kitchen through a food donation initiative held during the Navratri festival, with donations collected between 5 and 20 October 2026.
The initiative encouraged the Karuna Manor community to come together and donate food items to support people in need. Residents, their families and team members generously contributed to the collection, demonstrating the spirit of compassion, kindness and community responsibility that lies at the heart of the home.
Navratri is an important Hindu festival celebrating devotion, positivity and the triumph of good over evil. At Karuna Manor, the festival also provided an opportunity to put these values into action by supporting a local community initiative and extending care beyond the home.
The collected food donations were handed over to London Community Kitchen, an organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing food insecurity and hardship. The initiative highlighted how small acts of generosity can bring people together and contribute towards a meaningful cause.
As a South Asian cultural care home in Harrow, Karuna Manor places great importance on celebrating cultural traditions while creating opportunities for residents to remain active, connected and involved in the wider community. The food donation initiative enabled residents to participate in a shared charitable activity, reinforcing a sense of purpose and togetherness.
