Highview Lodge Care Home Celebrates South Asian Heritage Month with Cultural Festivities
Highview Lodge care home recently hosted a lively celebration in honour of South Asian Heritage Month, bringing together staff and residents for a day filled with cultural appreciation and community spirit. Held on 14th of August, the event featured traditional South Asian attire, energetic singing and dancing, and a variety of delicious dishes prepared and shared by the staff.
The celebration provided an opportunity for everyone at Highview Lodge to experience the rich and diverse traditions of South Asia. The enthusiastic participation from both staff and residents made the day especially memorable, fostering a strong sense of unity within the care home.
Jade Perry, the receptionist at Highview Lodge, shared her thoughts on the event, calling it a “beautiful experience with wonderful food.” Resident Cheryl was particularly taken with the traditional dresses, remarking that they looked “like princesses. “Fellow resident Eddie expressed his enjoyment of the day’s culinary offerings, noting the “lovely variety of tasty food.”
Gemma from the wellbeing team highlighted the broader impact of the celebration, emphasising that it not only brought everyone together but also served as a valuable team-building experience and an opportunity to learn about the diverse cultures within the community.
