Hallmark Care Home Unveils Its £800,000 Refurbishment With Help From The Mayor And A Celebrity Guest

unvielsHallmark Care Homes’ facility in Merthyr, Wales has unveiled its £800,000 refurbishment to the general public with help from the Mayor, Councillor Margaret Davies and celebrity actor Steve Speirs.

Greenhill Manor, which provides dementia, nursing and young physically disabled care, offered tours for over 50 inquisitive guests and revealed its new facilities for its 120 residents at an official grand launch event held last Friday.

The event was aided by the Mayor of Merthyr, Councillor Margaret Davies and Pirates of the Caribbean star Steve Speirs who revealed an official plaque which marked the end of the homes 16 month refurbishment. They were assisted in their efforts by the home’s General Manager Mark McCole and Hallmark Care Homes Managing Director Avnish Goyal, who both gave speeches at the special event.

The homes new facilities now include; an old fashioned pub, a luxurious hair salon, a farmhouse kitchen which will encourage residents to get more involved at mealtimes, a cinema and a café.

General Manager, Mark McCole said: “We had a fantastic day at the home’s grand relaunch event. The refurbishment will make a huge difference to our residents’ lives at Greenhill Manor. We have new facilities and our existing facilities have been upgraded to enhance choices and opportunities within the home. We are proud to have such an amazing environment.”

Resident, Lisa O’Conner, 44 said: “We are really excited about the new facilities at the home, we love all of the new areas that the home has to offer and will use them lots.”
