The Leonard Cheshire Disability home’s service manager and administrator will be among 57,000 runners taking on the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields on September 13.
Marie Sharp and Julie Wells are looking to raise £1350 in fundraising for their efforts to deliver the two facilities top of the wish list put together by residents at the Wetherby home.
Service Manager Marie Sharp said: “We have lovely residents living here that give me the greatest pleasure when I come to work in the morning.”
“They fill my day with joy and great satisfaction so it’s time for me to give something back to them,” she added.
