Goodwins Hall hosts Great Gatsby Murder Mystery Event

Goodwins Hall care home was transformed into a dazzling scene straight out of the roaring twenties for a spectacular Great Gatsby Murder Mystery Evening in aid of Kings Lynn charity The Bridge For Heroes.

Residents, guests, and team members all embraced the theme with enthusiasm, donning elegant flapper dresses, pinstriped gangster suits, and even toting inflatable Tommy splat guns to complete their 1920s look. The night was a resounding success, filled with mystery, excitement, and a strong sense of community spirit.

Home Manager Flavia Hansell expressed her gratitude, saying,
“The event was a great success, and I want to thank everyone who took part, even in the smallest way. A big thank you to all our team members who went above and beyond to make memorable moments for our residents and dressed to impress.”

The evening was nothing short of thrilling, as guests became detectives for the night, unravelling clues and piecing together the mystery in an atmosphere brimming with suspense and laughter. The highlight of the night was the presence of special guests, including the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Councillor Paul Bland, and the Mayoress Marion, who joined in the fun and added to the evening’s prestige.

Attendees indulged in a delicious feast, took part in exciting games, and had the chance to win fabulous raffle prizes, all while supporting a fantastic cause.

Flavia shared her appreciation, saying,
“We want to thank everyone who was involved in making this event such a success. It was a real team effort, from those who prepared the delicious food to the volunteers who set up and tidied up afterward. This event couldn’t have been done without the dedication and support of so many.”

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the event was a testament to the strong bonds within the Athena Care Homes family and their commitment to charitable causes. The Bridge For Heroes, the chosen charity for the evening, provides vital support to the Armed Forces Community (AFC) in King’s Lynn, West Norfolk, and beyond. Their dedicated team of trustees, staff, and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that veterans and their families receive the help they need, whether through direct support, referrals, or social engagement activities.

The Great Gatsby Murder Mystery Evening at Goodwins Hall was more than just an evening of entertainment—it was a celebration of history, generosity, and community spirit. With residents still talking about the event and already planning for the next one, it’s clear that this glamorous night will be remembered for years to come.
