The children at Kymin View Primary School and Llandogo Primary School put pen, paint, and glitter to paper to create heart-warming Christmas cards for all residents, who are fondly referred to as family members, at Gibraltar Nursing Home in Monmouth. Their sweet and thoughtful messages inside brought smiles to a lot of happy faces.
The cards were created as part of a community campaign to help prevent loneliness at Christmas time. Some people don’t have relatives to send them cards, and so a few kind words can really help to alleviate alienation. It reminds them people care and that they matter.
A teaching assistant at Kymin View commented, “The children enjoyed making the cards for the family members at Gibraltar. We really hope they enjoyed receiving them and that they all have a Merry Christmas.”
