Four Oakland Care Homes Named in UK’s Top 100

Care home provider, Oakland Care, have achieved the remarkable feat of four of their nine homes featuring in the Luxury Care Home Guide for 2023.

The established and respected guide, which is led by leading real estate agency Knight Frank and wealth management group Coutts, lists the top 100 luxury care homes from across the UK.

Selected by an expert judging panel who assess care homes against numerous criteria, including design, innovation, sustainability and preservation of heritage, the list is highly regarded by not only those in the industry but crucially by those seeking to find the best-in-class luxury care homes for their loved ones.

In a year in which the organisers received their largest ever list of submissions, equalling a staggering £3bn of assets, Oakland Care rose above the excellent competition to have a quartet of their homes featured on the prestigious list.

Elsyng House, Birchwood Heights, Maplewood Court, and Elmbrook Court Care Home were praised for their state-of-the-art, fully equipped accommodation and amenities, as well as their sustainability and environmental considerations which set the standard for social care.

This includes their journey through the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), the world’s leading sustainability assessment for buildings. The organisation’s ‘BREEAM In Use’ has allowed Oakland Care to understand the environmental, social, and sustainability performance of their buildings. This assessment is set against various criteria, including energy and water use, pollution, resources, and the health and well-being of users. It has given Oakland Care the opportunity to introduce positive changes in their homes, from reducing running costs, to improving air quality and lighting.

Speaking of the recognition, Chief Executive Officer at Oakland Care, Joanne Balmer BEM, said: “Oakland Care’s philosophy has always been distilled down to our simple yet effective values of Live, Love and Be Loved. This guides our mission to treat residents and colleagues as the individuals they are and do everything we can to nurture and celebrate each person’s independence.

“We’re achieving this by investing in our team and care homes so that we can always offer the highest-quality professional care and accommodation with a welcoming feel and a real community spirit. Securing multiple places on this year’s Luxury Care Home Guide is a testament to the exceptional work of all at Oakland Care who make this mission a reality.

“To have just one care home included in the prestigious Luxury Care Home Guide 2023 would be a triumph, but to have four of our nine care homes reflects the exceptional work of everyone at Oakland Care.”
