Flower Power As Care Home Stages Beatles-Themed Walk

A Dorset care home staged its own magical mystery tour when it organised a Beatles-themed fundraising walk.

Staff, residents and relatives from Colten Care’s Amberwood House in Ferndown donned wigs, headbands and Beatles style glasses.

Rattling collecting tins for Forest Holme Hospice in Poole, the 14-strong party attracted plenty of attention for the walk from the town’s Baiter Park to Poole Quay and back.

Carole Butler, Home Manager, said: “We thought a Beatles theme would be fun and that certainly turned out to be the case. There were lots of smiles.

“Everyone really entered into the spirit and we had a great time bringing flower power to the streets of Dorset.”

The walk, which was followed by a picnic, raised £40 for Forest Holme, Amberwood House’s adopted charity for 2017.
