A NEW Forest care home had a flipping good time by celebrating Pancake Day with a race in its grounds.

Three residents at Colten Care’s Woodpeckers in Brockenhurst competed in the fun competition at the Sway Road home along with Sara Gould, Activity Organiser.

Gwen Simon was declared the winner with Jacky Flint and Marion Minns as close runners-up. Jacqueline Reddell, Home Manager, said Woodpeckers had celebrated Pancake Day with a race for the last ten years. “It’s always a popular event with our residents and this year was no different. “Naturally we finished off the day with plenty of pancakes, served up with lots of lemon and sugar,” added Jacqueline.
