Ex-Racehorse Cavallini A Big Hit With Care Home Residents

Ex-Racehorse Cavallini A Big Hit With Care Home ResidentsCare UK’s Francis Court care home recently welcomed a very special visitor to celebrate Cheltenham Ladies’ Day – a retired ex-racehorse called Cavallini, along with his owner and jockey Emily Tyson.

The team and residents at the Copthorne care home prepared for the visit by taking part in a number of arts and crafts activities organised by Maxine Tyson. In the lead up to the visit residents had been busy creating bespoke hats, horseshoes and rosettes to celebrate the occasion, with many of the ladies proudly displaying their creations and showing them off on the day.

Gathering in the home’s large garden, Cavallini was happy to meet the Francis Court team and residents, posing for pictures and enjoying the attention from everyone at the home.

Maxine Tyson, activities coordinator at Francis Court, said: “Animals make fantastic companions and residents are used to meeting PAT dogs and miniature ponies – but it’s not every day that a magnificent racehorse like Cavallini trots in to say hello. Everybody was excited for the visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience – Cavallini and Emily are always welcome at Francis Court.”
