Epsom Care Home Heads To The ‘Wild, Wild West’ To Celebrate CQC Success

An Epsom care home has been given a seal of approval by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, as well as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Linden House, which is part of Wren Retirement Living, under the management of Healthcare Management Solutions (HCMS), welcomed Councillor George Crawford QPM to the home for a ‘Wild West’-themed celebration.

The event was also organised to celebrate Linden House’s most recent CQC inspection, which rated the home as ‘Good’. The CQC judges a care facility on its safety, effectiveness, level of care, responsiveness and leadership.

Councillor Crawford put his ukulele skills to the test throughout the party, as he entertained guests, which included residents, their family members and staff. The occasion also raised £75 to the Residents’ Comfort Fund, which goes towards additional treats and trips for residents.

The ‘Good’ CQC inspection report comprised of comments from the inspector, as well as from residents and family members, including: “It’s safe because there’s lots of staff around who are very efficient and kind,” and “I think the service is well managed. They know our needs and provide for us.”

Paula Windmill, Home Manager at Linden House, said: “I would like to thank Councillor Crawford and all of our guests for attending our celebration. It gave us an opportunity to recognise the achievements of everyone here at Linden House, and share our success with the community, which was thoroughly enjoyed by our residents.

“We won’t be resting on our laurels, though, and are always looking to improve, which will hopefully lead to further positive inspections in the future.”
