Elf’s Spotted In Camberley
Santa’s little helpers have been spotted running a mock all over Camberley’s Kings Ride. But not to worry, it is all in aid of raising money to beat dementia.
7 December is National Elf Day and is a fabulous festive fundraiser on behalf of the national organisation – the Alzheimer’s Association. Carers from Aura Care Living’s Kings Lodge care home will be unleashing their inner elf by dressing up in Christmas sparkle while also baking merry cakes for their residents.
Aura Care Living director Peter Lloyd said: “There’s a very serious reason behind Elf Day and that is dementia.
“Someone develops the disease every three minutes and dementia is the number one cause of death in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It doesn’t discriminate, it has a huge impact on families everywhere, and currently there’s no cure.
“At Aura Care Living we have specialist dementia wings to our homes and invest in some of the most innovative techniques and equipment to try and aid the sufferers of this condition.”
