Double Celebrations At Altrincham Home Following Long Service Awards For Colleagues

Maya Musopole and Karen Hale marked their 20-year service at MHA Handsworth
An Altrincham home celebrated the services of two colleagues who marked 20 years’ service.

Maya Musopole and Karen Hale both work at MHA Handsworth and marked 20 years of service, which combines to 40 years.

Maya works as a care assistant whilst Karen is a domestic assistant.

To celebrate their achievements the pair were presented with a certificate, a bouquet and some gifts.

MHA Handsworth provides residential care for 43 residents.

Speaking after the presentation Maya said: “I truly feel part of the MHA Handsworth family and consider myself a very dedicated member of the team.

“The presentation was a lovely surprise, I absolutely love my job and pray to God to give me more life and good health so I can continue to work here until I retire.

“Working in care, you have to love what you do and put your heart into it, you have to take the opportunity to educate yourself and I feel by growing you will love your job more.”

Karen added: “20 years has gone by really quick, a lot has changed, and I didn’t think I would be here when I started.

“I found out about the home as a friend of mine worked here and I am so happy I decided to join the home.

“I really enjoy working at MHA Handsworth, it’s a great place to work where I have met some lovely people in the form of residents and colleagues.

“It felt really nice to be appreciated, the gifts were great, and I can see myself retiring here, just another 10 years to go.”

“It makes me feel very privileged and humble that my nursing career and contribution to social care has been recognised nationally, my parents would have been so proud of me. I recognise that working for a great organisation like Barchester Healthcare means I am surrounded by some of the very best people in social care and I accept this award on behalf of all the nurses, carers and teams across Barchester that make my job so enjoyable and satisfying,” Julia added.

Dr Pete Calveley, CEO of Barchester Healthcare, commented: “I am incredibly proud of Julia, she is an exceptional nurse and with her 45 years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role of Director of Nursing at Barchester. We all know we are lucky to have her. She is a wonderful mentor and role model to all of our teams. No one is more deserving of this award.”
