Doncaster Care Home, Rowena House, Achieves Improved Care Rating
Proud to be operating a ‘Good’ care service at Rowena House care home in Conisbrough.
The professional care team at Rowena House, in Old Road, Conisbrough, are celebrating a new, improved rating from care industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
Previously rated ‘Requires Improvement’ since December 2016, the committed team at Rowena House have eventually managed to turn the service around and evidence to inspectors the good quality care that their residents receive, in all five key lines of enquiry; safe, effective, care, responsive and well-led.
Owned by one of the leading UK residential care providers, Runwood Homes, the 40-bedroom South Yorkshire care home, currently with space for 6 more residents, provides a place to live for people over the age of 65 living with dementia, as well as those who require personal care support, available via a professional team, 24 hours a day.
Celebrating this week, Home Manager of Rowena House, Kathleen George, said, “We are so pleased to officially receive a Good rating. We practise person-centred care, looking after the needs and wishes of every individual in our home. Our dedicated and passionate team are happy that their efforts are consistent and compliant, to provide an effective residential care service. Our continuous training and service monitoring ensures a safe, inspiring and comfortable living environment for all.”
The CQC report, published on 8 January 2020 following an unannounced inspection in November 2019, states; ‘People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service support this’.
