Deputy Manager at Whitstable Care Home Celebrates 20 years Anniversary

The deputy manager of a Whitstable based care home celebrated his 20-year work anniversary with the home and says seeing the residents happy is what keeps him going.

Tim Bailey started working at MHA Bradbury Grange when he was 16 and joined initially as a member of the kitchen team.

He then climbed the progression ladder and moved into the care department, starting off as a care assistant, senior care assistant, a residential support lead and then deputy manager.

The home provides tailored residential and residential dementia care for 50 residents, who Tim says are a huge reason as to why he still enjoys working at the home.

Speaking after his achievement he said: “When I joined, I never thought I would still be here after 20 years.

“My experience of working for MHA has been great and I do feel it’s a mixture of the staff, the atmosphere at the home and the residents which has contributed to me being here for 20 years.

“The home is a very positive place to work, we all get along with each other and seeing residents happy is what keeps me going and I can’t see myself going anywhere else.”
