Coventry Home Arranges Summer Fete And Raises More Than £850

Ruth was very impressed with the turnout and the community support

A Coventry home arranged a summer fete and managed to raise more than £850 in the process.

MHA Charnwood House opened its doors to the community and set up a fete.

The home managed to raise £860.00 following donations from the local community and fundraising.

The idea came off the back of a monthly ‘twirl’ meeting the home has where they look at ideas to improve the home and integrate with the community.

There were plenty of activities as well as a barbeque and cake stall to keep the attendees entertained.

The home provides residential dementia care for 65 residents

Ruth Morgan, activity coordinator said:
“There was a really good turnout for this year’s summer fete and it was a real team effort.

“The weather was nice, we had plenty going on and it was nice to see everyone having a good time.

“We got some really lovely feedback from everyone and that was very positive.

“In regard to the money we have raised, we will look for ideas on how to best use it in our next twirl meeting.

“On behalf of everyone at the home, I want to thank everyone who supported the fete and look forward to arranging something like this again.”
