Country Cousins Helps Bring St Peter’s Hospital Wellbeing Garden Back To Life

Country Cousins has joined forces with Barchester Healthcare to help restore the wellbeing garden at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, creating a welcoming outdoor space for hospital staff and visitors to enjoy.

Volunteers from Country Cousins and Barchester Healthcare worked together to revitalise the hospital’s EduKitchen wellbeing garden, an outdoor space originally used for growing herbs and offering a peaceful place to pause and reflect.

The team helped clear and tidy the garden, bringing it back to life and laying the foundations for it to become a welcoming green space once again. With its potential to provide a place for people to spend time outdoors, connect with nature and take a break from the demands of the day, the garden offers something valuable to the wider hospital community.

For Country Cousins, taking part in the project was an opportunity to give something back to the local community and support a cause centred on wellbeing.

Angela Rodbourne, Head of Introductory Care at Country Cousins, said: “We were delighted to work alongside Barchester Healthcare on this fantastic community project. The wellbeing garden has real potential to become a wonderful space for staff and visitors, and we’re proud to have contributed our time and effort to help restore it.

“It’s lovely to be able to play a part in creating somewhere people can enjoy a little peace and quiet, spend time outdoors and take a moment for themselves. Supporting wellbeing and connection is at the heart of what we do, so it was a pleasure to be involved.”
