Cornerstone Superheroes Assemble…
Last week staff at Cornerstone Healthcare Group in Hampshire celebrated Pressure Ulcer Awareness Day. Pressure Heroes from all over Cornerstone donned their masks and capes to deliver sucker punches to pressure ulcers and raise awareness of the fabulous effort by all staff to reducing their number within our service.
The day was established to bring pressure ulcers to the attention of the public, healthcare professionals and MPs. Our heroes also shared their knowledge by taking leaflets and discussing the challenges of pressure ulcers with elderly care providers in the community.
Aaron Ballinger, who organised the event at Cornerstone said “It was a fantastic day, everyone really got into the spirit of it. We had quizzes and presented awards to raise awareness of pressure ulcers. The kitchen staff even baked a special cake to celebrate the day!”
Staff at both Kitnocks House, nr Botley and South Africa Lodge in Waterlooville are always looking for ways to keep pressure ulcers at bay. The rate of pressure ulcers at Cornerstone’s is way below the national average.
CEO, Johann van Zyl added “I’m very proud of our staff, they always put our residents first and this is just another example of their innovation and commitment to helping our residents’ quality of life”
