Connell Court Care Home Celebrates 50 Years of Caring for the Southport Community

Connell Court Care Home in Southport, one of the UK’s oldest purpose-built residential care homes, has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a Summer Garden Party bringing together residents, families, staff and friends.

The special event at the Weld Road home featured live music, games, stalls, homemade cakes and a fish and chip van, creating a memorable day of celebration. Special guests included Merseyside Deputy Lieutenant Billy Hui BEM and his consort Kerry, along with Dr Garth Dallas, Chair of the Liverpool Commonwealth Association.
The celebrations also raised £768.28 through a raffle and fundraising stalls, with proceeds helping to support future resident activities.

Adding to the celebrations, Connell Court has also been named one of the Top 20 Care Homes in the North West in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards. Based on reviews from residents and their families, the award recognises the home’s commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.

The anniversary was also an opportunity to thank the dedicated team, past and present, whose compassion and commitment have helped make Connell Court a valued part of the Southport community for the past 50 years.
