Connaught Care Confirms New Luxury Care Home Development in Felpham, West Sussex
This month, Connaught Care Collection confirmed plans to open a new, purpose-built luxury care home in Felpham, West Sussex – the latest milestone in the group’s fast-growing development pipeline across the South of England. The group currently operates six prime care homes across the East and South East; in total comprising 444 beds.
Set to open in 2027, the new home will provide 80 ensuite bedrooms to the local community and deliver industry-leading residential and dementia care services to its residents. In addition to first-class care, residents and their loved ones will benefit from a thoughtfully designed, lifestyle-led environment complete with a hair salon, café bistro, and even a children’s games room specially designed for visiting grandkids.
The development follows a new agreement with Elevation Healthcare Properties (“EHP”), a specialist healthcare property investor advised by Elevation Advisors LLP (“Elevation”). As part of the deal, EHP has already acquired the land and agreed to forward fund the project. Once complete, Connaught Care will operate the home as part of its growing portfolio of high-end care communities across the UK.
Andrew Winstanley, CEO of the Connaught Care Collection, comments: “This is a major step forward for Connaught Care, and we’re very proud to be bringing a new, industry-leading home to Felpham. Premium care provision remains in short supply across many parts of the country, leaving too many people without access to the very best support in later life. With premium facilities, high-specification design and forward-thinking environmental technology, our new home will set a new benchmark for care in West Sussex and beyond. We can’t wait to get started.”
The home is also being developed to target an EPC A rating, a BREEAM Construction rating of ‘Very Good’, and a BREEAM In-Use rating of ‘Excellent’. Connaught and Elevation’s ambition is to ensure the new building is not only an exceptional place for residents to live, but is also a resilient and responsible long term contribution to the built environment of Felpham.
James Giles, Investment Director at Elevation, says:“We are excited to celebrate adding our 50th high-quality home into the portfolio of EHP, and to continue our growing partnership with Connaught as we continue deployment of the fund. The care home will provide 60–80 jobs to the local community and will be built to exceed the latest environmental standards. Connaught’s strategy for progressing ESG and sustainability is strongly aligned with that of Elevation and we are delighted to fulfil the local market need for care homes which are built for longevity to benefit the lives of residents, staff, families and the local community.”
