Community Turns Out In Strength As West Moors Care Home Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Thirty years of dedicated community care in Dorset have been celebrated at a West Moors care home.

Residents and team members at Colten Care’s Brook View staged a lively garden party with barbecue to mark its 30th anniversary.

More than 80 guests attended including families and friends of residents, local supporters and members of the wider West Moors community.

Hosts and guests tucked into a 30th birthday cake, sang ‘Happy Birthday’, took part in a raffle, sampled tasty treats from a sweet stall and enjoyed live music. Children also had fun with face painting.

The party raised £734.30 for Brook View’s main charity for this year, Gulliver’s Farm.

Among the Brook View residents who enjoyed the event was Pam Clark who lives at the home with her husband Trevor.

Pam said: “It was a lovely afternoon, great to see families and residents coming together.”

Her comments were echoed by fellow resident Pat Upshall who added: “It was a fantastic day. Everyone was so helpful, great teamwork.”

Guests included Councillor Rita Burke, Chair of West Moors Town Council, who told Brook View staff afterwards:
“It was lovely to see your residents, staff and the local community joining together and enjoying the hospitality, music, food and conversation. An amazing donation to Gulliver’s Farm rounded off a perfect day.”

Home Manager Abhishek Bagchi, who welcomed the guests and thanked colleagues for organising the party, said:
“Our residents, families and staff truly enjoy happy occasions such as this. The afternoon was a fantastic way to show how proud we are to be part of the West Moors community. We all feel uplifted by the day.”
