Community Supports Orchard Garden at Cotswold Home

Friends, family and the local community came out in force on Saturday 20th May to help The Cotswold Care Home in Bradwell Village revamp its Orchard Garden.

The Cotswold Home, built in the traditional Cotswold style, is located in Bradwell Village near Burford and offers a home from home for around 50 guests. The home has extensive gardens and courtyards but the Orchard Garden area was in need of a re-work and the home reached out to the local community for help.

The Donate and Dig appeal was supported by local companies Hickman Brother’s Landscaping, Lechlade Garden Centre and Burford Garden Centre who donated money for plants and compost to decorate the mostly grassed orchard area which is also home to a range of fruit trees.

Friends, relatives and local residents turned up to help with some of the care home occupants getting involved too. Together the volunteers created raised beds and planted a range of bulbs and plants. A lovely day in the sunshine was enjoyed by all.

“We would like to thank all those who supported our Orchard Garden Day, both in terms of the fantastic donations and time and effort,” commented Donna Kent, The Cotswold Home. “We now have a very attractive outdoor space that our residents can enjoy all year round.”
