Community Group Raises More Than £1100 for Leamington Spa Home Following Christmas Fair
A community group has raised more than £1100 for a Leamington Spa home following a very successful Christmas fair.
The Friends of Homewood set up a Christmas Fair at the Methodist Church in Dale Street in a bid to raise funds for MHA Homewood.
The friends of Homewood are a team of volunteers who spend their time with residents during trips out, entertainment and garden maintenance.
The fair proved to be very successful with a total of £1,179, which will go into the homes amenities fund from which activities and trips will be arranged.
The home provides residential care for 50 residents.
Jackie Tudor, activities coordinator said: “We had a great turnout for the Christmas fair.
“There was so much for people to get involved in, and it was great to see so many people.
“We had a raffle, tombola, and various stalls including jewellery, plants, books and cakes.
“Throughout the course of the day we had more than 100 members of the community come to visit and show their support.
“Family members of residents were also present, and it was a great day.
“I want to thank everyone for their support and give a huge thanks to the friends of Homewood for their continued support.”
