Community Come Together For Acorn House’ Summer Fete

BuntingA care home in Nottingham opened its doors to the community recently as the staff and residents hosted a summer fete.

Acorn House Care Home, based in Carrington, hosted the popular annual event in the home and its grounds, welcoming friends, relatives and community members.

Amy Bluebird entertained guests with swing and rock n roll songs from the 1950s, whilst visitors were given the opportunity to browse a range of stalls and participate in a raffle.

With activities and entertainment including traditional fairground games, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Laura Lee, Acorn House’ activities coordinator, commented: “We had a really enjoyable day and it was truly amazing to see the turn out of family, friends and the local community.

“We would like to thank everyone for attending and helping, particularly the organisations for their support and donations.”

The fun-filled event was supported by businesses in Nottingham, including WHSmiths, Co-op Carrington, The Grosvenor Pub, The Flower Gallery, A. Wright & Son butchers and cosmetic retailers, Lush and the Body Shop.

An Acorn House resident, commented: “It was nice to see the children on the games stall and enjoying the bouncy castle. There was a lovely atmosphere.”

Acorn House Care Home is located in the area of Carrington, providing residential and dementia care in a luxury and homely environment.
