Clitheroe Care Home Raises Over £500 for School’s Chosen Charity
Residents at Middleshaw Hills care home in Clitheroe donated £560 The Bethany Project, a cause chosen by Barrow URC Primary School.
Barrow URC Primary School work together with The Bethany Project to help vulnerable children in Tanzania, providing education and safe spaces.
In April 2026, teachers at the school plan to visit Tanzania to deliver teacher training, meet the children, and open a brand-new library.
Residents and team members at Middleshaw Hills fundraised for the charity through several events and a community raffle, to which local businesses provided prizes.
Delighted to receive the donation, Executive Headteacher at Barrow URC Primary School, Nicola McArdle said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive such a generous donation from Middleshaw Hills. Our relationship with the care home is incredibly special to us, and we truly value the time we spend together.
“We look forward to sharing photographs, stories and a coffee on our return from Tanzania, and telling them all about the inspiring work taking place to support children’s education.”
Charlotte Pardon, the General Manager at Middleshaw Hills, added, “Building strong community links is important, and our relationship with Barrow URC Primary School has been a real highlight.
“The work being done with The Bethany Project is truly inspiring, and we look forward to hearing about the difference they make.”
