Classic Cars Event Delights Residents At Elizabeth House

On the 27th of July, the car park of Elizabeth House, part of Runwood Homes Group was transformed into a nostalgic display of automotive history as the Classic Car Club, Triumph Cars, organised a special event for the residents. This delightful event, arranged by Karen, Wellbeing Lead of Elizabeth House as well as the daughter of one of their residents, brought joy and excitement to everyone involved.

Residents from all floors were escorted to the car park to experience the beauty and charm of classic cars. They had the opportunity to see, touch, and even sit inside these vintage vehicles, rekindling memories and sparking joy. Margaret, one of Elizabeth House’s residents, was particularly thrilled to recognise a car similar to one she once owned, while the Disney-themed car brought smiles to the visiting children.

Tracy McGuinness, Deputy Manager of Elizabeth House, shared her thoughts:
“It was fantastic for one and all. Residents and their families enjoyed themselves immensely.”

Karen Burrows, Wellbeing Lead of Elizabeth House, added:
“It was a fantastic day with classic cars. The residents really loved the event and enjoyed seeing all the vehicles.”

Paul Gaskel, Director of Dementia Care, remarked:
“Brilliant activity! Look at the smiles beaming from Bob and Mary.”
