Claridge Place Care Home Celebrates the Success of Recent Intergenerational Initiative
Claridge Place care home recently held a “Intergenerational Initiative”, and brought together the vibrant energy of children from BamBams Nursery with the cherished residents of the care home, fostering meaningful connections between the two generations.
Children from BamBams Nursery visited Claridge Place to engage in a series of enjoyable activities with the residents. The event was filled with laughter as the children and residents participated in colouring, played games, and spent quality time together. Terri, a dedicated member of the Wellbeing team, facilitated the event by connecting with BamBams Nursery and inviting them into the home.
The Intergenerational Initiative highlights the benefits of bringing together different age groups. These interactions provide valuable opportunities for both young and old to enhance their social and communication skills, while also nurturing empathy and kindness. The initiative helps combat ageism and isolation, promotes social interaction, and allows both generations to inspire and learn from each other.
Stacey Debney-Webber, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Claridge Place, expressed her enthusiasm for the event: “The team was delighted to welcome BamBams Nursery to Claridge Place for the Intergenerational Initiative. From the very start of the activity, the residents’ faces lit up with joy as they engaged in special interactions with the children. The laughter, smiles, and fun that the children brought into the home were truly heartwarming, and the team looks forward to welcoming them back.”
