Christmas Comes Early To Bocking Care Home
Staff and residents at The New Deanery residential care home in Bocking were in the Christmas spirit when they donned their favourite festive knits to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish and Save the Children.
Everyone who took part in the Christmas jumper day paid £2 via ITV’s Text Santa appeal, which aims to give hope to families in difficulty.
Jackie Barnes, who is a member of the Activities Team at the care homes, said: “The Text Santa appeal is a fantastic way to raise money for these worthy causes.
“Christmas is a special time for the residents, they had such fun day wearing their Christmas jumpers and it really got us all in the festive spirit.”
Resident Barbara Broadly said: “Being at The New Deanery at Christmas enables me to do my favorite things like getting together with my family, listening to lots of music, singing and eating plenty of delicious food.”
